Triumph Speedmaster vs Harley-Davidson 883 Iron vs Kawasaki VN900

The new £6749 Triumph Speedmaster takes on the £6699 Harley-Davidson 883 Iron and £7000 Kawaski VN900 in our test of the middleweight cruisers, that offer custom motorcycle styling without the inflated pricetag and size of the bigger cruisers. Surprisingly, they don’t feel cheap and can almost offer the same experience as their bigger custom brothers but for half the price. With the Harley and Triumph you also buy in to the ‘brand’, whereas the Kawasaki lacks kudos but makes up for it with the mean, pseudo hard tail styling, with the hidden rear shock giving not only cleaner lines, but also better ride quality than the others. What is? surprising is that the Harley is the least expensive bike in the test.

i have ridden the triumph and it has no balls. you wrench on the? throttle and it just doesnt do anything. and if they think thats the fastest then i dont care to ride the others.

Great Review! That’s how it? should be done all the time!

    4. onteamplanb says:

I just love that tank? on the 883!

    5. davebikes says:

Well produced? but dem bikes isGhhheey!

    6. Atheistprimate says:

good review? wasted on three crap bikes

    7. YarekBalear says:

I? thought a large part of the appeal of cruisers was the low burble of the engine, but we didn’t get to hear any of the bikes or get much of a look at them. Not entirely sure who would want an 800cc cruiser with no power either.

    8. thecowside says:

Good review. I’ve ridden the Kawasaki and it was hauled ass for a 900. The 883 wasn’t? bad either.

    9. JerryMopar says:

The tail end of the Kawasaki looks like it came from? a cheap china-bike

    10. xwagon says:

I didn’t realist “fastest” and “quickest” are measurements of engine? power, interesting…

      @hotrodstu77
In that case, not even bother trying to ride the other two bikes! And three MCN reviewers? say the Triumph has the best engine. Maybe you know something they don’t ???

    12. TheTonicro says:

nice editing? and review, don’ like crusiers so to me all of them suck

    13. hackneo64 says:

      the fags will be pleased?

    14. gm16v149 says:

Cruisers are targeted at older guys who had their taste of speed in their younger days, and now just want to keep their license and live to a ripe old? age. Like me for instance.

Why is British English? so uncomfortable to listen to haha …

    16. heartlesspinto says:

I like when they say that it depends on what one likes. So you mean that you took 3 completely different bikes to compare? Haha…just poking fun at? the irony.

    17. heartlesspinto says:

@fofalooza The sportster…it’s always been competitively priced. They must have something cheap to keep the current generation in the HD saddle. Then they grow up? and buy their expensive bikes :)

    18. fofalooza says:

@heartlesspinto heheh Sure, competitively priced for a Harley yet I? certainly wouldn’t have expected it to come in at less than the Kawasaki

    19. binky4647 says:

Why anyone rides these things? is beyond me.

    20. 1kperday says:

Ucgh… those horrible urethra pipe ends on the Kaw are hideous. If you’re going to slash-cut the pipes, don’t cover over? the ends. blarg

    21. swcjo6 says:

Why watch the video if you dont? rate crusiers? Im not a fan of sports bike therefore l wouldn’t watch a road test of them.

    22. thecross1000 says:

@1kperday ….ive got one. Got rid of that bit ….now 3 inch straight through’s that sound? good…..oh and loud

    23. Apaolo247 says:

I? had an 883 it was the biggest piece of shit I ever rode….500 miles then traded it for a ducati 848 evo

    24. kingjames1234q says:

the 883 is the best bike for the money, it rides good, looks great, people always ask about it and even? take pictures of my stock bike, and like they said it’s the Harley name. When you ride a Harley you are riding history. I’ve put over 7000 miles on my Iron sportster in under 3 months, and drove it across three states an would never trade it for some import pos..

@unhommeetranger I feel the same way about? North American English. No offense, but it grates on me.
